ABOUT THE TERRACOTTA ARMY AND THE FIRST EMPEROR OF CHINA
One of history’s biggest discoveries has been faithfully recreated for South African audiences. The Terracotta Army and the First Emperor of China is the most painstaking recreation of the exhibition the world over, and includes over 300 replica warriors, chariots and the emperor’s tomb itself.
Qin Shi Huang was the first Emperor of China and ascended to the throne at the age of 13. His death remains a mystery, though many believe he was killed by someone within his ranks. Loyalists of Qin Shin Huang honoured him in his afterlife with the Terracotta Army.
